Golf Fitness Components to Improve your Skills

The modern golfer needs proper golf fitness to be able to bring out the full potential in his golf game. Most golfers rely on luck and repetition to get the shots that they want, but this is not enough to rely on to have good golf game. Your play will be sporadic and unpredictable. There are primarily 6 golf components to improve your skills. These components specialize in the various skills and movements needed for a complete game. Without these fitness components, your swing will never be consistent, nor will it ever have power and distance. Here are the 6 important golf components:

1. Strength. It takes strength to maintain golf posture and to rotate your upper body into the ball with power. A lower level of golf strength will result in difficulty with posture, and down-swing power. The Strength component improves your skills in driving the golf ball a long distance.

2. Flexibility. Flexibility is important to achieve a full backswing with no muscular tension. Lack of flexibility creates tension in your golf swing. That will result in a decrease of club head speed and distance. The Flexibility component improves your accuracy with your shots. The more flexible you are, the more control you have over your shot.

3. Stability. You need to be stable in your golf swing to perform optimal swing mechanics. Also, your consistency for 18 holes depends on a stable golf swing. This goes hand in hand with the next component: balance. The stability component improves your power and accuracy especially in shots that are made in the rough and unstable areas.

4. Balance. Almost everyone has fallen out of balance in a middle of a golf swing, but why do golfers ignore balance training for an improved swing? Balance is important in almost all the shots you make including putts. Improved balance creates a consistent and very powerful swing for 18 holes.

5. Coordination. The golf swing requires a specific sequence of motion, which is requires coordination. Figuring out the sequence and coordination is important for a strong and complete golf game. Coordination is needed in all sports and improves the overall athletic ability of any golfer.

6. Muscular Endurance. Having endurance helps you maintain optimal swing mechanics and power for many hours of golf. Endurance also affects your concentration. When you're tired, it's easy to lose focus. But when you're fit, muscular endurance improves your concentration and you stay focused for 18 holes with ease.
